From your practice to the lab and back:

CEREC® Digital Impressions simplify your workflow and enhance dentist/lab communication.

The numbers don’t lie: Digital Impression systems are one of the fastest growing segments of dental technology available today. According to a market research study by Transparency Market Research, the global digital impression systems market stood at $2.13 billion in 2015.1 This market is expected to proliferate at a healthy compounded annual growth rate of 18.3% between now and 2025.1

With a market cap in the billions and an unprecedented growth rate, there’s never been a better time to implement digital impressions than right now. Maybe you love working with your lab, but you’re looking for a way to streamline your restorative workflow, reduce materials costs, and enhance your patients’ experience and overall treatment satisfaction. Or maybe you’re looking for a most affordable—and also most profitable—way to get into CAD/CAM. The solution to both situations is to implement a CEREC Digital Impression system into your practice.

Utilizing the same innovative, impressive (no pun intended!) and clinically proven CEREC digital impression technology that’s produced millions of restorations for patients throughout the world, CEREC Digital Impressions are also the easiest to use with a simplified 3-step, powder-free process: Scan, Check, and Send.

Here’s how it’s done: Simply glide the Omnicam digital impression camera above the tooth preparation and surrounding dentition, automatically capturing precise, full-color digital images of the prep, neighboring teeth, and antagonists. The scanning process is quick and efficient and can be delegated to your staff, freeing up time for you to attend to other patients. The 3D preview of the scan makes it easy to see the image you’ve captured in real-time, so you benefit from immediate visual confirmation of a proper digital impression.

Next, verify your scan with the Sirona Connect software. The Sirona Connect software displays the captured digital impression and subsequently calculates the virtual 3D model in seconds. You can define the preparation line yourself, or delegate this step to your dental laboratory.

Finally, send your digital 3D model to the lab of your choice—the data are transmitted in seconds, and you’ll receive a notification from the lab that your restoration has been received and ready to produce. Should the lab need to discuss any aspect of the restoration, Sirona Connect makes dentist/lab communication easy. The direct transmission of model data to the lab allows the dentist and lab technician to discuss any aspect of the restoration in real time while the patient is still in the chair.

What’s more, unlike digital impression systems from other manufacturers, the CEREC Digital Impression system is readily upgradeable to become a fully featured, single-visit chairside restoration system. Just add a milling unit and CEREC software when the time is right for you, and start producing inlays, onlays, crowns, bridges, and more right in your own practice.
